International upgrades just got tougher on NWA - Airwise Discussion Forum

Well, catching up on all of my NWA literature for the month of March, it appears that there have been numerous unpleasant changes to the World Perks program recently. One big change is bumping up the required mileage for upgrades for overseas travel, particular to (and within) Asia. To upgrade from economy to World Biz Class- one must now use 60K roundtrip instead of the traditional 50K. Ouch!
Also, there have been changes to what booking classes qualify for upgrades. No longer can one purchase M tickets and use miles for upgrade to WBC. Only B and Y booking classes qualify now. Oooooo- that reeeeally stings. Things just got more expensive for Mikey.
Well, I could only hope those promotional biz fares creep back into the fare scheme again. I think I was just unbelievably lucky to fly JFK-NRT-SIN-NRT-JFK for just under $3000 (Z tkt). Something tells me that we may never see premium class fares that low again for travel to SE Asia.
