The reason for the connection problem is probably because the Netgear MoCA network is interfering with the FIOS MoCA network. You need to make sure that both the Netgear MoCA MCA1001 and your MI424-WR are on the same MoCA network channel (or the same frequency).

I would suggest you to check and make sure that the Netgear devices are in “channel frequency scan mode” so that they can lock onto the MI424-WR frequency. If this does not resolve the problem, then most likely the MoCA encryption is enabled on your MI424-WR. I would then try enabling the encryption feature on the Netgear devices with the default password.

If you’re still having problem, check with FIOS tech support.

Tinker at your own risk. It worked for me, but I make no guarantees.
Qwest supplies an ActionTec Wireless-Ready DSL Gateway modem (model #
R1520SU) with their DSL service. I received one from them while
living in Arizona. Now that I live in North Carolina I have Verizon
DSL.
According to Verizon the ActionTec Wireless-Ready DSL Gateway modem
will not work with their service, but the fact that I am able to post
this message right now is proof that it will. You just have to make a
few changes.

The Verizon supplied Westell DSL modem (model # B90-210015-04) does
not do NAT, and there was no way I was going to put a Windoze (Hack me
please) box directly connected to the Internet. Yes I admit I use
Windows for WinMX, but the rest of the time I’m a Linux guy. I
Promise!
Ok…Here is what you need to do.
1) Set your computer’s ethernet card to “dynamically assigned IP
address”. Hook the ActionTec DSL Gateway modem to your computer’s
ethernet card, hook-up the Verizon DSL line, and then boot the modem
up.
2) Pull up your web browser (java script must be enabled) and aim it
at;
http://192.168.0.1
3) Click on “Setup / Configuration”
4) Click on “Non-Windows Setup”
5) Select RFC1483 Bridged
6) Now at the bottom of the webpage select “Save and Restart”
If you get another page with another “Save and Restart” button click
that button as well.
Wait for your modem to reboot. You’re not done yet.
Once your DSL modem comes back up, point your web browser back at
http://192.168.0.1
7) Click on “Utilities”
Now click on “DSL Settings”.
9) Leave the VPI setting at “0″, but change the VCI to 35. The default
Qwest value is 32.
10 Change the “Mode” from “MULTIMODE” to “T1.413″
(Note is possible to bring the modem up in MULTIMODE, but the boot up
handshake takes much longer, and it does not always come up.)
11) Click “Save and Restart”
If you get another page with another “Save and Restart” button click
that button as well.
The modem should reboot. Once it comes back up point your web browser
back to http://192.168.0.1
12) Click on “Status”
13) The unit should say “Connected” with DHCP listed in the Mode: box.
If it says “Disconnected” in the “Connection:” box click “Connect.”
It should be up now. Mine came up, and I am using it right now.
One one occasion I had to send a few ping packets out to the net
before Verizon would route my traffic. Oddly enough I could ping
their routers gateway IP address (Not the DSL modem’s IP addess) from
inside the Intenal 192.168.0.0/24 network, but the traffic would not
route past their gateay IP address. A few minutes later it started
working. Go figure.
Hope this helps.
-Night Ranger
P.S. Interesting tidbit for Westell DSL modem users
On the Westell modem CD look in the;
/cdrom/bin/utils/Westell/Diagnostic Icon
folder.
Install the Setup.exe program. It creates a pretty useless “Yep
you’re on the Intenet” utility. Run the utility. Now press
CTRL/ALT/F7. The utility just got alot more useful. You should have
several new TABS to chose from at the top. Tinker at your own risk.
